I would be happy to help you with any problem or challenge that you are currently facing. The fact that you are researching entering therapy is an important first step. Therapy is an ongoing process that helps a person develop into the person that they want to be. It involves enhancing current coping skills as well as developing new ones and gaining insight into one’s self.
It is important for people to pay attention to the emotional, physical and spiritual aspects of their life. In my own personal life, I strive to continue to grow and maintain a balance in all three areas. I encourage my clients to pay attention to all aspects of their life. While I am primarily interpersonal and insight oriented, I also utilize cognitive (where one learns how to change negative thinking) behavioral (where one learns new ways of behaving and responding to situations) therapies as appropriate. I am a graduate of the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland so also use Gestalt techniques into my work. While I honor past experiences, I view them as important in relationship to the present. I am very comfortable incorporating a person’s faith and spirituality into treatment. I work with individuals (age five and up) as well as couples and families.
Research has shown a strong connection between the mind and the body. People who see a psychologist often have better outcomes than those that don’t. Learning the relaxation response helps you be able to calm both the mind and body.
I have extensive experience in helping people:
My office is conveniently located in the Renaissance Centre, which is on the corner of 10th and State Street. Since I am in a solo practice, my waiting room offers privacy that may not be available in group practices. My office décor is casual as I feel that it is important for people to feel comfortable as they discuss their life with me. I generally have office hours from 10 – 7 Monday through Thursday and 10-5 on Friday.
I am an adjunct faculty member in the Psychology Department at Gannon University. I am active in the Pennsylvania Psychological Association serving on the Committee on Multiculturalism, the Colleague Assistance Committee and the Bulletin Committee. I also serve on the Medical/Moral Advisory Committee for the Catholic Diocese of Erie.
Please feel free to give me a call and I would be happy to answer any questions that you may have. Please note that if I am with a client or out of the office you will reach my voice mail. I try to return calls the same day so please leave a day and evening phone number
